Our qualifications
Michael D. Holcomb
Owner and founder of IFC Home Inspections, with an extensive history in construction and a deep understanding of building science.
Notwithstanding years of expertise in adjacent fields, Michael wanted to be certain he was specifically qualified to deliver home inspections you can trust, so he became a member of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors® (InterNACHI®). Beyond the fundamentals, he continued his education in deck, exterior, plumbing, WDO (wood-destroying organisms) and other specialty inspections, earning nineteen InterNACHI® certifications in all.
For years, Utah did not require home inspectors to be certified at all. Michael was distressed to learn that many Utahns were paying hundreds of dollars to uncertified inspectors who could not offer guarantees. Because he is certified through InterNACHI®, IFC is backed by the Buy-Back Guarantee and Honor Guarantee™, and as the company grows, every IFC inspector is a Certified Professional Inspector®.
Utah now licenses home inspectors, and the new Private Home Inspector license requires a recognized certification and liability and errors & omissions insurance. Those are the standards IFC was built on from day one.

Licensed & Insured
In accordance with Utah DOPL standards, we carry both General Liability and Errors & Omissions insurance. Proof of insurance is available on request.
